Position Vacant: International Projects Manager
Since 2003 the Alternative Technology Association has conducted renewable energy projects throughout East Timor to install solar power systems that provide lighting and power for thousands of households, community centres, orphanages, schools and hospitals in remote rural villages. We have a strong focus on training Timorese people to install and manage their own solar power and lighting. We work in partnership with community groups in Australia and East Timor.
From 2015-17 the ATA will implement a training and maintenance programs to help build a sustainable solar industry in East Timor. Previous and future solar installations will be tracked using an online map and a database of installations developed that our project partners at CNEFP will use for ongoing maintenance. We will also train local village technicians in solar systems installation and maintenance through the roll-out of hundreds of Village Lighting Systems (VLS).

The International Projects Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing these projects in East Timor and potential projects in other locations. Operating with considerable autonomy both in Australia and East Timor the successful applicant will liaise with a number of key stakeholders to help deliver these projects. The applicant will also develop future projects, programs and partnerships.
This position will be based in Melbourne, Australia and will require overseas travel with approximately 4-6 weeks per annum spent in East Timor.
