We are looking for a highly motivated and resourceful individual with a genuine commitment to human rights and democracy in Indonesia, seeking to lead this well known and respected human rights campaign. The post-holder will be responsible for the management and strategic development of TAPOL’s human rights work, ensuring timely delivery of its programmes, exploring new opportunities and taking the organisation on to the next level as Indonesia adapts to a new President and his different approaches to political, social and economic development.
S/he will have a pivotal role in defining priority areas for TAPOL’s work, collaborating closely with partners in Indonesia, as well as with UK and European activist networks, and other stakeholders.
This crucial role calls for experience of working in international advocacy, good knowledge of human rights in Indonesia, a track record of influencing policy, and first rate project design and fund-raising skills. In addition to international advocacy expertise s/he will need proven management skills, be accustomed to managing budgets, and know how to engage with key stakeholders and build relationships with a wide range of new ones. We also require a willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
