Economic Adviser

Cardno Emerging Markets is seeking an experienced and professional Economic Adviser to support the Governance for Development (GfD) program.

Through the GfD program, the Australian Government is assisting the Government of Timor-Leste to implement its Strategic Development Plan by working with central agencies to improve systems that are most important to economic management and service delivery.

GfD is providing an Economic Adviser to the Office of the Minister of State Coordinating Economic Affairs (MECAE) to support the development and implementation of the government’s economic reform agenda.

The Economic Adviser will provide detailed research, economic analysis and advice to MECAE in order to support policy formulation that will promote economic development. The Adviser will also work to improve the capacity of the MECAE staff to provide the government with economic policy, analysis and advice.

Applicants should have a tertiary qualifications in economics, along with experience working as an economist in government or the private sector.
