Work alongside the International Labour Organization to support the development of the beef cattle sector in Timor-Leste.

We are seeking a volunteer with a tertiary qualification in beef cattle, or extensive direct experience in the industry, and practical experience in cattle production and/or marketing. Working alongside relevant staff, the volunteer will recommend new models of beef cattle production in two target districts, and identify business oriented farmers to pilot the new models. They will provide support in the design and implementation of action plans for the production and marketing of beef cattle, including assisting with technical training, as well as support relevant staff through on the job training, mentoring and advice as required.

The ILO is currently partnered with the Ministry of Economy and Development to stimulate micro and small enterprise in rural areas of Timor-Leste. The aim is to facilitate economic growth in prospective rural sectors, such as agriculture, beef cattle and horticulture. The volunteer will be working with two pilot districts, with the intention that the methods developed will be applied in all 13 districts of Timor-Leste.

This is a nine month assignment and basic, furnished accommodation will be provided by VSA.
